I had my mechanic put together my new suspension bits since I didn’t want to deal with compressing the springs myself. I’m wondering if he put them together incorrectly because the new front assemblies are longer than stock. This setup should be lowering the car about an inch.

Not sure if it’s my eyes but just by counting coils it looks wrong. And the one all the way to the left seems way off.

Just got off the phone with their tech support. It looks like the difference is coming from the old stuff being worn and the shaft on the Koni is actually longer.

Figured it out. 2 on the left are new and old front suspension. 2 on the right are old and new rear suspension. The difference I’m seeing is from the old stuff being super worn and the shafts on the Konis are longer.

Gotcha, well the springs will definitely take a little time to settle in, when I got my 50 mm lift it was like 80 mm for about 4 months until it set. now its right.

Notice progressive rate springs as well.

I have those flyin miata extended travel top hats too! And yeah, it was a bitch to get it all together. For the front, it wasn’t bad, you can compress the spring enough by hand to get the top hat sort of on, and then use the car itself and a jack as a compressor. NBD.
The back tho...
For the first one, I tried using the spring compressors I bought years ago. They didn’t fit on the flyin miata springs because of the dead coils. So I went and rented some that barely fit. It was a close thing but I managed to get the passenger side all together. Scratched up my spring pretty good hammering the spring compressor fingers out.
So for the driver’s side I took a risk, a pretty big risk, and just shoved everything into the car unnassembled. Then I very slowly very carefully jacked the arm up and got the shaft to go through the top hat. It was dumb, and dangerous and scary... but it worked !
Enjoy your new suspension! It really transformed my car. Even my girlfriend who can’t remember what color a car is or how many doors it has noticed the difference!
